Community Input & Partners

Between 2022 and 2023, the Office of Historic Preservation (OHP) conducted an online community engagement survey and held 10 Community Input Sessions as part of the African American Heritage Preservation Initiative. The survey and community meetings offered an opportunity to gather input about the people, places, events, and intangible heritage important to Black and African American culture in San Antonio. Participants actively contributed to shaping the context statement by sharing their thoughts and personal experiences.
